Since 2007, Halifax's DMV Theatre Collective has been staging contemporary theatre that tackles societal conventions, inviting audiences to look at the world through a different perspective

Pamela Halstead - Co-Artistic Producer - Pamela is a director, dramaturg, actor, teacher and arts consultant. Pamela is currently the Artistic Director of Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC). She is the former Artistic Director of Lunchbox Theatre (Calgary, AB) and Ship's Company Theatre (Parrsboro, NS). In her 10 years between these two companies she dramaturged, directed and/or produced over 60 productions, the majority of them premieres of new works. Pamela was awarded the inaugural Evans Award at the Calgary Critics' Awards for her contribution to the vibrancy of the Calgary theatre community.

Kate Lavender - Co-Artistic Producer - Selected Theatre credits include: Pageant, The Ugly One, The Blue Light, The Leisure Society, How I learned to Drive (DMV Theatre), Vimy, Fall in Paris (Eastern Front Theatre), The Devil’s Disciple, The Shape of a Girl (Neptune Theatre), I Ought to be in Pictures, Gaslight (Festival Antigonish), Bone Cage (Forerunner Playwrights Co-op), The Servant of Two Masters (The New Globe Theatre, NYC), As You Like It (Westbeth Theatre, NYC). Film and Television: The Last Supper, Faith, Fraud & Minimum Wage, Growing Op, A Very Lucky Girl and Daring and Grace.  Kate has a BA in Theatre from Acadia University and MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School in New York City.  She is also a decorator and stylist by trade and an avid collector of fine vintage trinkets and wares

Matthew Thomas Walker - Co-Artistic Prodcuer - Matt is a graduate of both York's MFA in Theatre and of Dalhousie's Acting Program. He recently directed the company’s 10th Anniversary production, Speaking in Tongues by Andrew Bovell and has performed in DMV's How I Learned to Drive, The Blue Light, Pageant and the Canadian Premiere of Marius von Mayenburng's The Ugly One.  He currently works between Halifax and Toronto where he is also Co-Artistic Director of Litmus Theatre. For Litmus, Matt has directed Matchbox Macbeth (Top 10 plays of 2010), Birth of Frankenstein (Dora Award for Direction) and Brave New World (7 MyTheatre Award Nominations). He was the 2015 recipient of the Ken Macdougall Award for Promising Emerging Director.  

Emily Pettet - Associate Producer - Emily Pettet is a queer director, producer, choreographer and performer based in Toronto and Halifax. Her driving force is giving voice to the stories of women, queer people and those living with mental 'illness'. She has worked with DMV Theatre, LunaSea Theatre, Eastern Front Theatre, Halifax Theatre for Young People, HEIST Live Art, Canada's National Ballet School and more. Emily has trained in dance, theatre and voice across Canada and in the UK and attended the University of Victoria where she studied Women’s Studies and Applied Ethics. She is currently co-producing a workshop of Wonder by Ellen Denny about Canada's first female Nuclear Physicist, Harriet Brooks, and is developing a new dance theatre piece called Enough exploring societal pressures and expectations put on women and queer people, as performer, choreographer and director. Emily believes no one is illegal.
